Campfire Girls Circle formation. Eula Miles of Hayden organized the first Camp Fire Girls in Routt County in 1914. A Camp was organized in Steamboat Springs in 1915 and named Dipsisawah, which the girls said meant flower or more specifically spring beauty. Grace Leckenby was the Guardian of the camp (a Guardian had to be 21 or older and supervised each group of girls). A second camp, Nananonah Pah (medicine water) was organized in July of 1916. A third camp was organzied in S.S. in 1918, Pewawa (originally Pawawa) Camp, and Mrs. A.H. Poppen was the Guardian. Rachel Wood Turner Estate Routt County People B & W Photo
