Title: Man logging in the winter.
Description: Sarvis Timber Company. By 1913, the Sarvis Timber Company was harvesting logs 17 miles south of Steamboat Springs. During the fall and winter months, men cut logs, peeled off the bark, and stacked them at the head of Sarvis Creek. In 1916, the company advertised that it intended to install an aerial tram, replacing the sleds and teams, and thereby making it possible to log during the summer.
