Sign advertising for "The Empire Lumber Co." was operated by George Merril. Newspaper ads for the company first appear in the Oak Creek Times in 1906. Empire had yards in both Oak Creek and Steamboat Springs and sold "dressed and rough lumber, shingles, building hardware, paper etc." *scan only, original album with contributor.
